I have plans for a website, which will be for people who trying to achieve some goals. At first only financial goals. They can chat on their goals in the website forum. To help each other to achieve goals more faster. (synergy effect)FIRST WEBSITE page:
Some goals listed, when someone clicks on a goal he is redirected to a forum, where all steps
needed to accomplish his goal, are listed as a themes, where everyone can chat with his budies. Example:

GOAL: Make a blog earning 100$ a month
1. Choose a domain name
2. Buy a domain and hosting
3. Install a blog software on domain
4. Get unique topic, and start to write on it.
etc.......

BUDGET - 400$
I am planing to spend like 400$ on forum software(vbulletin), instaliation, SEO modification, revenue sharing modification, domain, website character, logo and minimal design,
submission to link directory.

WEBSITE INCOME
* Adsense
* later maybe webinars, or coaching, I could make small commisions
* BIG goals, can be paid, like make 1000$/month website.
* Sell mini ebooks, like «how to make money from forum website, best practises», «how to make money trading websites»

Could You please, answer some questions?
* Will this idea fail, or is it needed?
* Is it worth developing and spend time?
* Which is the toughest parts of my idea?
* Will it be very hard to get members to my forum?
* How much such a site would be worth with say 100 active members?
* Would You be interested that website?

First of all, please excuse me if I posted this message in wrong section.What appears to be the problem? Well, I have a web site (http://ad-sensing.com) with an average of 400-500 unique visitors per day. I also have Shop on it, under subdomain http://shop.ad-sensing.com where I sell AdSense e-Books for 3$. The shop also has an unique of 400 visitors on a daily basis.

The problem is that, after 5 days of launching it, I had one single purchase. 5 days * 400 visitors means 2000 people were on my site, and still only one purchase. I think that 3$ is really low price.

The question is where do I get traffic (ie people) that are willing to pay for something on my website? Whether it's subscription, e-Book or else.

How does your website smell?I'm going to start with a fictional story to make a fundamental point and observation. It's fictional because I don't think there could be anybody as stupid as the main character.

Once upon a time a guy named Wingnut came up with a brilliant invention. I mean this thing was bigger han the wheel or even sliced bread. It was something everyone would want to buy and eventually wouldn't want to live without. A truely revolutionary product. He decided to build a store to sell this prouct he got the word out. He spent tone of money on highly optimized billboards on every major highway to drive traffic to his store. Soon he saw a massive surge of traffic coming over the horizon heading right for his store. Wignut could almost taste his impending fortunes.

Now this is where this fairytale takes a nighmarish turn. Having put all of his money into billboard optimization he was forced to build a less than desirable store. In fact he had put his store in an old chicken coup instead ofa shiney new building. Though he tried, he couldn't get rid of the awful smell of chicken crap out of the store. To be honest, I'd be suprised if anyone could stay in the store for more than a few second before their eys swelled up and teared while the gagged for air, much less stay and shop. Wingnut never did sell anything and soon the bank forclosed on the chicken farm.

The point of this story, if you haven't got it already, is to make certain your foundation and core presence on the internet is well executed before you even begin to think about traffic.I hear countless stories of decent website traffic and no sales. Most times the culprit is simply a poor presentation.
